Women's Columbia Titanium Insulated Milano Jacket Review

The Women's Columbia Titanium Insulated Milano Jacket is a jacket with most of the features of any technical ski jacket, but there are a few aspects of the jacket that may turn off some potential buyers. First, the good: The jacket is extremely warm without being bulky or limiting freedom of movement. The elastic bands on the sleeves do a great job of increasing mobility, making this jacket even easier to move around in than some other, more expensive ones. The cuffs are adjustable, but don't feature thumb-holes, which for hard core ski and snowboard junkies may be a turn-off because it makes it much easier for cold air and snow to get in through the wrists.

The Women's Columbia Titanium Insulated Milano Jacket's powder skirt kept snow and cold from coming in from beneath, but this jacket also has an adjustable belt on the front that basically serves an aesthetic purpose without being a part of the jacket's functional design. This would be fine if the belt were removable, but it's completely attached with no way to get rid of it. People who care less about looking stylish and just want a good ski jacket will want to remove the belt. It doesn't get in the way, it's just superfluous and unnecessary, so I'm surprised there's no way to remove it.

The hood on the Women's Columbia Titanium Insulated Milano Jacket is also not removable. For a jacket that tries hard to look stylish for casual day-to-day use, this is a strange design move as well. People just going out on the town will probably want to remove the bulky hood when it isn't needed, but they'll be out of luck here. Those issues aside, the jacket does a great job on the slopes and has a design that almost ensures a great-looking fit. It has good pockets and is warm without being bulky. The attached hood is the bulkiest part of the jacket, so people looking for a jacket for simple, casual use may want to find one with a hood that detaches.

If you don't mind the attached hood or you're only planning on using the jacket for actual winter sports, the Women's Columbia Titanium Insulated Milano Jacket is almost certainly going to satisfy your needs with its features, style, and price. Just keep in mind that the belt, an addition that serves only a fashion purpose, is not removable. While it doesn't seem to get in the way of activities on the mountain, some may find it annoying that they can't remove it anyway. As long as that doesn't bother you, this jacket is easy to recommend.
