Church Photography 101: How to Plan and construct a Church Photo Directory
Church Photography 101: How to Plan and construct a Church Photo Directory
Church pictorial directories are one of the most important elements in a church congregation. It allows the large society to interact and know each other well by merely seeing up one another's names. The whole congregation values church photo directories as priceless possessions because of their marvelous benefits. The innovations in the field of photography paved the way for more photographers to come up and furnish these directories. |
|
Various churches and congregations worldwide avail of photo directories to serve pastors and their families. These straightforward products aid the whole society in studying more about their members. Any church pictorial directory makes it easier for people to name customary faces and remain in touch. With allowable planning and organization, church directories can possess a expert and personal look. There are churches worldwide that prefer large or digital clubs to furnish their church directories. However, it is best that people think distinct clubs to collate prices and quality. The following is a step by step guide on how to have a local church directory. It is important that you talk with your pastor or clergyman first on the need for a church directory. However, if you are the head of the church, you can simply discuss the plan for creating one by considering suggestions from your staff. Create a team or a core group to help plan and produce the process for creating church photo directories. Prescription someone who will be in payment of scheduling photo shoots with the members. This same someone will also be the single point of sense between the congregation and the church photo directory publishing company. Analyze the options. Make sure that you collate clubs and their prices and quality of work. Make sure to discover the software that they'll be using for the whole process, it pays to know the details and the inherent outcome prior to making the decision. Once you have analyzed all available options, it is time to sense the chosen enterprise to book a schedule. The enterprise should be able to furnish your church a photo studio and a photographer for the shoot. Some churches hire the studio and photographer separately. Schedule the photo shoot days ahead for each house in your congregation. It is important to send them e-mail reminders on their scheduled shoot so that everybody can be updated. After the shoot, wait for the photo directories to arrive and then distribute them to every member. The pictorial church directory will then furnish every house in the society a means to get to know everybody in the congregation. Church Architectural Plans: What to Expect in Good Drawings
Church Architectural Plans: What to Expect in Good Drawings
Architectural Plans - What's In, What's Out |
|
Rather than discuss the latest fads in church design, I want to illustrate what a church should expect to be included in the drawings ready by an architect. The construction plans should contain adequate institute facts that well-qualified sub-contractors, experienced in their field, should be able to bid and institute the premise without having to rely too heavily on the constructor and architect during construction. The plans do not so much present construction techniques, but rather specify materials to be used, standard standards, and the scope of the work. Not every nut and bolt in the project needs to be drawn or specified, but wall sections should be included, as should unusual or critical institute elements. Trim work details may not be included, nor will many of the halt items that the owner may be selecting during construction. Such items are sometimes given a dollar allowance for bidding purposes. The plans may contain the specifications, or a detach spec hand-operated may be ready for larger projects. It is particularly important for the architect to know if the project will be managed by a preselected constructor or competitively bid by several normal contractors. This will impact the level of detail required of the plans and specifications and will work on the cost of the architectural services. The architect should also know how much the owner will rely on him to cope the bid process and analyze the bids. In any case, keep in mind that a more faultless and definite set of plans will more likely ensue in an on-time, on-budget project with fewer problems. "Can We Buy Your Plans?" Architects are occasionally asked if they will "sell" a set of plans that were once created for someone else church. These inquiries often come from someone who has seen a church that they believe would perfectly meet the needs of their congregation. They assume that the architect may be happy to naturally copy the plans and sell them for a small fee. Few (if any) architects will be curious in such a proposition. Architects do not sell a product; they supply a service based on the unique needs of their client. The architect must institute each church in accordance with the prevailing local codes, and soil and climate conditions of the project. Ready utility services will work on the mechanical design. Furthermore, material availability and local construction techniques also vary from place to place. An architect provides services to the church that go beyond the printed plans. Hiring an architect creates a long-term connection where the church will advantage from the institute professional's experience, creativity, and counsel. Furthermore, churches normally want to insure that the unique institute that they worked hard to institute with the help of their architect will not be duplicated in every detail by someone else church that is trying to save money by copying their gorgeous new creation. Courts have long held that architects hold all legal possession and possession of their designs. The architect's clients cannot give or sell plans to others without the architect's permission. Why Are Women's Boots So Popular?
Why Are Women's Boots So Popular?
There are many reasons why women's boots have become so popular. They are sexy, stylish with bit of a wild touch them. In other words they exude a bit of an attitude compared to other types of foot wear. But most important of all, they are very comfortable and warm to wear, especially during the cold season. There are so many different styles and colours to choose from. Not many women know that high heeled boots are actually easier to walk around in, compared to regular high-heel shoes. Therefore if you do not have much experience walking around in high heels, wearing high heel women's boots is a good place to start. |
|
When shopping for boots, it can be a little tricky, because not only do they have to fit your feet, they have to fit the leg. No two person's calves will be the same; hence no two boots will fit the same person. Another reason for their popularity is that women's boots are designed to fit women's feet. This may seem obvious but it is a deciding factor. The materials used can be leather or materials similar to leather. Although leather is by far the most popular material. No material can match the comfort and stylish look of leather. Apart from high heel boots, flat, low heel boots are also very popular. This type of boot is better if you are planning to do a lot of walking around. You will be able to move around a lot faster without compromising on comfort, which only a boot can give. Some of these boots come with a thick and sturdy heel, giving you some extra height with a good sense of balance. These boots will have a little more attitude and make you feel tougher. Other styles of boots include knee-high stiletto boots, high heeled laced up boots and over-the knee boots. Women's boots are used by people in all walks of life, no pun intended. They are worn by various professionals serving in the military and law enforcement. The reason is because they exude a combination of elegance, and professionalism and not to mention comfort and practicality. Whether marching in the desert or skiing the slopes, very few apparel can match the boots comfort and versatility. It's no surprise that women's boots have been around since the end of the 19th century. These include hiking boots, work boots, protective boots and specialty boots. As mentioned before there are many different styles of boots available which means it will not be difficult to accessorize your boots with whatever you are wearing. Although women's boots have been around for a while, it was not until the 1950's that they became a popular fashion accessory. The best part of it all is that it is possible to find a pair that will fit just about anybodies budget. Contrary to what many people believe, boots are not always very expensive. With a little time and patience, you are sure to find a good bargain. Why Are Women's Boots So Popular? |

Women's Petite Denim Jeans - How to Find a Pair That Fits
Women's Petite Denim Jeans - How to Find a Pair That Fits
When looking for jeans that fit and flatter, petite women can face some special challenges. Cut, fabric, sizing and proportion are all important factors when it comes to women's petite denim jeans. Here are some tips on to how successfully find a pair that fits. |
|
Petite women are divided into 2 categories. There are those with average frames with a height of 5'4" and under. Then there are those with smaller frames that are between 5'4" to 5'9" in height. Both of these body types have the same shopping issues, and that is finding a pair of jeans that fit snugly and comfortably without compromising the length. Petites who are short with larger hips should look for trousers and straight leg cuts. Jeans to avoid are extreme flare styles, excessively baggy carpenter jeans and slim cuts. Recommended brands to try are Diesel, Marc, Citizens Of Humanity and Lucky. These brands come in an optional stretch style as well, which will make them feel more comfortable. A jean crisis is something you shouldn't have to worry about. Now that you know which styles flatter your body, you'll have a better shopping experience, so that's one less problem! Church Marketing - Top 10 Items to contain in Your Church Welcome Packet!
Church Marketing - Top 10 Items to contain in Your Church Welcome Packet!
So, you put a marketing plan together, even got a funds that didn't have "shoestring" connected with it, ran your campaign and guess what? It all came together. Population have started to flow into your church. And if you have read my past articles, you are saying that you are done and have done the warm hand off to others as these folks are on their way to becoming regular visitors and possibly even members. You job is done.....almost! |
|
Let's face it, marketing's job is never done, but there is one thing that you should give some understanding to before the marketing team's job is thought about done. And that is a good welcome packet. Why have welcome packets? A welcome packet can be a marketing tool to contribute new visitors facts about your church, its' doctrine or belief's and some of the ministries or activities that go on there. It gives the guest something to chronicle when they have left the church and have some time to reflect. There are several objectives of insuring your guests are given a welcome packet when they visit: * Makes them feel welcome! You want to express your gratitude for allowing you to share and to also indicate that they are welcome to return * Understand your structure. One of the reasons visitors come is to learn something about your church. How it is organized. What sets you apart from the other churches in the area. Welcome packets can achieve that. * come to be familiar with your worship style (is it more singing then they would like?) and church beliefs. * chronicle activities calendar. Visitors want to know the upcoming agenda of events and ministry meeting times.
While there is no absolute must have list, here are some ideas that will help to make a great impression and give guests a reason for returning: 1. Video or Dvd of your organization - It could be a video tour of the whole grounds or maybe just a 30 second clip that tells about each ministry in the church. possibly it is the vision for where you want to get to. 2. Refrigerator magnets Are you finding for an cheap marketing tool that has long term staying power? This may be best than you think! agreeing to a study at Purdue University, the median American visits their refrigerator 22 times a day. What else could you get that is going to get that much exposure? And strange as it sounds, even if Population don't like them, they tend to put them on their refrigerators. 3. Letter of Greeting from the Minister Perhaps a personalized message with an invitation to return the following week. Studies have found that a personal interaction with the priest can have a dramatically definite succeed on whether man returns or makes a church home. (So, don't forget about the priest production a personal phone call to succeed up the next week either!) 4. facts on the membership process of your church. Some visitors are ready to come to be members from day one. They may have just moved and want to keep their denominational affiliation intact. Others just feel good and know when they have found their new church home. It takes the awkwardness out of them having to ask. 5. Invitation for on-line survey. A quick contemplate of a visitor's church contact is good. But they may feel uneasy filling out one in church especially if they are the only guest that day. Online surveys contribute an easy way for you to resolve how things unquestionably are since they are truly anonymous. 6. Audio recording - Could be a modern Sunday Message or possibly something more of an invitation. Keep in mind that at the least we are a Cd world. Cassettes are dead. Podcasts or downloads are a great way to get them to your website. 7. Informational brochure - normal info about the church and its' ministries (if you can't do a video or want to cover your bases). It could also contain a brief history of the church, or the denomination if that is deemed important. 8. Calendar of events - Announcement flyers of social events such as fall festivals, Christmas programs, etc. 9. Coupons! A coupon to turn in at the church book store or on the website for a free token of appreciation or a discount. I love the coupon that entitles the user for a free cup of coffee with the minister! 10 Tote bags or bookmarks - Both of these have come to be very cheap and help to keep your church in the guests mind. Be sure to contain your website address on these! While these are not all-inclusive, they do make a convenient impression on any church guest. A good welcome packet can make the distinction if a visitor comes back for a second look. It can contribute the answers to some of the questions that arise after they have left the church. Of course, nothing beats a personal note or phone call from the minister How do they get distributed? Don't leave it up to chance whether a visitor gets a welcome packet or not. While my contact has gone from having to look for them myself or being told to pick one up on the way out, anything short of personally handing one to me loses some of the welcome packet's purpose... To make me feel welcome. Make sure your church doesn't make that mistake! Church Marketing - Top 10 Items to contain in Your Church Welcome Packet! |

Women's Fashion Clothes For 2010
Women's Fashion Clothes For 2010
When it comes to women's fashion, clothes for 2010 are definitely taking the limelight. Promising to be one of the most colorful and creative years for the fashion world, designers this year are already breaking rules and starting new trends. |
|
On the other hand, men's fashion is taking a step back, with designers sticking to basics. When it comes to basics, it's the men's department that stocks up more as compared to the women's; fashion, clothes, and shoes that are more on the adventurous side focus a little more on women than men nowadays. This begs the question, why do women's fashion clothes show more changes as compared to the opposite gender's? Perhaps designers know better than to trifle with men's clothes; after all, the average Joe is not about to experiment with pants of a shape that looks foreign to him. Women, in contrast, are more willing to explore new trends. Thankfully, in terms of women's fashion, clothes are becoming more and more figure-friendly. In the last few years, women's fashion clothes included baby doll dresses, maxi dresses, loose shirts, and many other trends that flatter a woman the right way. Any unwanted pounds are well-hidden while beautiful curves are given due merit. Designers have gone a long way in designing wearable, chic women's fashion clothes. The year 2010 is no different. More ensembles are cropping up, with women becoming more open to new styles and cuts. Women's fashion clothes are being overhauled; as a result, dress codes are becoming more and more open to imagination. The word "casual chic" can mean anything from pants and heels to a fun, short dress. Women's fashion & clothes are rather unpredictable with every year that passes by, but this change is something fashionistas actually look forward to every season. Perhaps men's fashion will get a makeover soon, but not as radically as women's fashion - clothes, shoes, and bags will always be more prone to modification on a woman's body. There will still be great designers banking on women's basics, such as Calvin Klein and DKNY; however, with savants like Alexander McQueen not holding back, there is more to come in women's fashion clothes for 2010. Women's Right to Property in India
Women's Right to Property in India
Several legal reforms have taken place since independence in India, including on equal share of daughters to property. Yet equal status remains illusive .Establishment of laws and bringing practices in conformity thereto is necessarily a long drawn out process. The government, the legislature, the judiciary, the media and civil society has to perform their roles, each in their own areas of competence and in a concerted manner for the process to be speedy and effective.
|
|
"...It is not easy to eradicate deep seated cultural values or to alter traditions that perpetuate discrimination. It is fashionable to denigrate the role of law reform in bringing about social change. Obviously law, by itself, may not be enough. Law is only an instrument. It must be effectively used. And this effective use depends as much on a supportive judiciary as on the social will to change. An active social reform movement, if accompanied by legal reform, properly enforced, can transform society." Historical perspective
If it's a matter of property, then legally male dominate the society. There are numerous laws that say that there should be no discrimination between the sexes, but in reality none are effective enough to actually bring about a revolution; a change in society. According to the Indian Succession Act, 1925, everyone is entitled to equal inheritance, except Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists and Muslims. Under this act, the daughter of a person dying intestate would be entitled only to one-fourth of the son's share, or Rs. 5,000/- (Sthree Dhan), whichever is lesser. The Travancore High Court, however, held that the Indian Succession Act would have no application to the Christian women of the Travancore State in view of the Travancore Christian Succession Act, 1916. Under the State Act, the daughter of a person dying intestate would be entitled only to one-fourth of the son's share or Rs. 5,000/- (Sthree Dhana) whichever is lesser. The application of the State Act was challenged in the Supreme Court in the famous Mary Roy's Case (Mary Roy Vs. State of Kerala, AIR 1986 SC 1011; 1986(2) SCC 209). The Court ruled that the Cochin and Travancore Christian Succession Acts had ceased to be operative on the Reorganization of States and that automatically made the Indian Succession Act applicable to all Kerala Christians bestowing on them equal inheritance rights. The Hindu Enactment Act, 1956, established that women have equal inheritance rights, as men; and it abolished life estate of female heirs. However, this law could not do the needful as there was another law, the Mitakshara coparcenaries (Hindu Law) that overruled the previous law.
Recommendations of Women Committees/Commissions on Status of Women in India In 1975 a committee on the status of women was constituted by the Government of India, to evaluate the current legal provisions in regards to women , so that that a women is not left completely destitute. Some important recommendations which were made by this committee were that legislative measures should be taken to bring Christian women of Kerala under the Indian Succession Act. The Indian Succession Act should be extended to Goa and Pondicherry respectively to undo the relegation of widows to fourth position in matters of succession and to undo the inferior position to which Christian women are relegated by not being considered as full owners of property. In regards to succession to property among Hindus, the right by birth should be abolished and the Mitakshara co-parcenary should be converted into Dayabhaga (the retention of Mitakshara co-parcenary perpetuates inequality between sons and daughters as only males can be co-parceners, and inheritance is only through the male line). The exception provided in Section 4 (2) of the Hindu Succession Act relating to devolution of tenancies should be abolished (this provision, as it stands now excludes devolution of tenancy rights under various State Laws from the scope of the Act). The discrimination between married and unmarried daughters regarding right of inheritance of dwelling houses caused under Section 23 of the Hindu Succession Act should be removed.
In Matrimonial property, legal recognition should be given to the economic value of the contribution made by the wife through household work for purposes of determining ownership of matrimonial property, instead of continuing the archaic test of actual financial contribution; On divorce or separation, the wife should be entitled to at least one-third of the assets acquired at the time of and during the marriage. The National Commission for Women had also recommended certain amendments in laws related to women and property. Under Indian Succession Act, 1925 it suggested that Sections 15 and 16 of the Act, should be amended, removing mandatory linkage of wife's domicile with that of the husband. Further, it recommended that appointment of testamentary guardian may be the right of both the parents acting concurrently. Widows should be granted letter of administration to deal with the Estate of the deceased husband unless excluded by the Court for sufficient reasons (Section 219 (a)).and application made by the widow to be disposed of within a year (Section 218 (2).In Hindu Succession Act, 1956 It suggested that equal distribution should be made of not only separate or self acquired properties of the diseased male, but also of undivided interests in co-parcenary property. Daughter of a co-parcener in a Hindu joint family governed by Mitakshara Law to be co-parcener by birth in her own right in the same manner as her son; she should have right of claim by survivorship and to have same liabilities and disabilities as a son ;further co-parcenary property to be divided and allotted in equal share. The right of any heir to claim partition of a dwelling house to arise only after settlement of widowed mother's rights is disposed with in case the deceased male is intestate.
Myth Earlier, the law use to put the male heirs on a higher footing by providing that they shall inherit an additional independent share in co-parcenary property over and above what they inherit equally with female heirs; the very concept of co-parcenary was that of "an exclusive male membership club" .Now this concept has` been abolished . But surprisingly, even today, even after the new law, co-parcenary remains a primary entitlement of males; no doubt law provides for equal division of share between all heirs, male and female on the death of a male co-parcener, but in practice the scene is totally different .Legally, Intestate self acquired property devolves equally between male and female heirs; but , even toady female heirs are asked to relinquish their share by making relinquishment deeds on their signature and are commonly submitted in courts. If the intestate property includes a dwelling house, the female heirs have no right to partition until the male heirs choose to divide their respective shares. If a Hindu female dies intestate, her property devolves first to husband's heirs, then to husband's father's heirs and finally only to mother's heirs; thus the intestate Hindu female property is kept within the husband's lien. Conclusion To actually achieve equal inheritance for all, the laws have been amended. In regard to succession to property among Hindus, the right by birth has been abolished and the Mitakshara School co-parcenary of Hindu Law has been converted into Dayabhaga School that means equal distribution of not only separate or self acquired properties of the diseased male, but also of undivided interests in coparcenary property. Daughter of a coparcener in a Hindu joint family governed by Mitakshara Law now is coparcener by birth in her own right in the same manner as a son; she has right of claim by survivorship and has same liabilities and disabilities as a son; now co-parcenary property to be divided and allotted in equal share. The theoretical reforms so far have not been adequate to give all Indian women a right to property on the same footing and terms as men. It varies with region and religion. Even where law has given a right, conventions and practices do not recognize them. Women themselves relinquish their rights. Women, as daughters, wives, daughters-in-law, mothers or sisters tend to lose out and often suffer deprivation. This further gets accentuated when they lose the security of the family, as single women, divorced/separated or widowed. Social awareness of the rights under law, attitudes to adhere to it and a mindset to change law and practice to ensure social justice is therefore urgent.

What is the Most productive Way to invite citizen to Church?
What is the Most productive Way to invite citizen to Church?
Many pastors struggle with where to spend their minuscule advertising budgets. They wonder and experiment with distinct ways to ask habitancy to church. |
|
When I began to think about writing an narrative on interesting habitancy to church, I stumbled across an perfect narrative by Kevin Hendricks on the Internet entitled "You're Invited: Bringing habitancy to Church." Hendricks interviewed Pastor Lee Powell of Cedar Creek Church in Perrysburg, Ohio. Powell started Cedar Creek in 1994 with 25 habitancy meeting in a Chinese restaurant. The church has grown to more than 6,000 with two campuses. Before entering the ministry, Powell worked for Sears as a national advertising executive. "When I worked at Sears, we used to buy tire ads every week," Powell said. "Most of the time habitancy pay no concentration to them. But when they need a tire--that's when they looked for the ad." In spite of Powell's marketing sophistication in buying ads, he says 80 percent of first-time church visitors come because someone personally invited them. Hendricks reports that other pastor of a large multi-site church (Shawn Wood of shore Church in South Carolina) said that his church has practically given up on mass mailings. It now relies primarily on habitancy interesting other people. These pastors and others have discovered what secular marketing guru Seth Godin has been saying for years. Mass marketing is dead. If you insert your message into the clutter of mass marketing channels, you will waste a lot of money, time and effort. Godin recommends investing in a purple cow, which he describes as something distinct that is going to get habitancy talking. If you concentrate word of mouth with word of mouse (Internet and e-mail), then you have the makings of a viral marketing campaign for your church. A purple cow is something that will get your church noticed. It is wholly different. You can't help but observation it. Because you have a good church doesn't mean your congregation will ask people. Make it easy for your members to ask their friends and acquaintances. Hendricks suggests printing invitation enterprise cards. Be sure and contain the basic church details such as meeting times, phone number and website address. Ok, you've decided to print an invitation enterprise card. Now, where do you get the purple cow? Will it fit on a enterprise card? On the other side of your church invitation enterprise card, bless habitancy with a complimentary subscription to the Kids Click Menu at http://www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org. Kids Talk About God features unique, Bible-based article in which Christian children express their faith in speaking, writing and drawing. Even though some parents may be spiritually lethargic, most of them want Christian values for their children. Through database website technology, the space above and below the Kids Click Menu can ask habitancy to your church. To see an example in action, visit the web page created for New Hope Christian Fellowship at http://www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org/Nhcf. Children and families will enjoy seeing and hearing real kids riposte questions about God and the Bible in 60 streaming Kid Tv Interviews. There's an online art gallery of Bible pictures drawn by kids along with a printable storybook Bible where children can justify Bible stories and make their own books (Kids Color Me Bible). Kids and parents will have to strap on their seatbelts for high adventure when they watch the Mission Explorers Streaming Video. This series, originally distributed by a branch of Thomas Nelson Publishers, features an 11-year-old girl reporting on the activities of real missionaries in a global mission trip. To date, it remains the only series where children touch missionary work through the eyes of a peer. In fact, the whole Kids Click Menu is geared that way. Children learn from their peers. The idea here is to bless habitancy where they care the most - their children - and ask them to church at the same time. Once a website visitor enters the Kids Talk About God website through a special Url such as the one created for New Hope Christian Fellowship, the visitor receives an invitation to church with every click. Besides invitation enterprise cards, church members can use the "Send This Website to Friends" button at the top of every web page. This button allows church members to send the church-sponsored Kids Click Menu to all the friends in their e-mail address book with a personal message. When their friends click on the website link, they will receive the Kids Click Menu with an invitation to church that appears in the space above and below it. Playing Drums in Church
Playing Drums in Church
This is a branch I'm writing on out of necessity because I'm faced with the volume issue every week! Of course, it goes without saying that I've been told to "turn down" all of my life. We're talking over 40 years of playing drums and hearing just that when I lived in apartments, playing in small venues, churches, and small rooms in general. And it still burns me. |
|
Why? Not because I'm unreasonable, or a show off, or something like that. It's because I do make every potential attempt to play quietly. But, as many of you know, it can and does influence your quality to keep a good groove. Also, most folks don't understand the instrument and what it takes to get a good sound from them. My church is a nearly 200 year-old building with high ceilings. Designed to carry the pastor's voice, so you can fantasize the power the drums can have should I become unglued. And, I'm positioned in the open, in front of the piano. At this point it's the only place for me without a major "rebuild" of the area we use. And by that I mean removing the platform that the choir's seats are on and building a corner cubby for the drums, etc. Many big churches have the budget for adequate sound absorption and drum booths, etc. But when you're a small church, with no money for such things, and this is the first praise band in the church's history, well, we deal with this as if it's the first time. Which it is. That being said, this is what I've done so far to help in volume control. First, I use Promark "cool rods". These are great for a whole of reasons also volume. They greatly reduce the shock going up your arms from playing with a stick. This is foremost to me because I've been playing rock for over 40 years and I've now got some arm damage. It's my own fault, I used rimshots quite a bit in the old days to play over the volume of loud guitarists. I started out with the "hot rods" but found I didn't need such a large version. It's a dinky hard to get adequate "ping" from my ride, but I like what I can do on the snare and hihat. Next, I have the approved pillow in my bass drum, augmented with a seat upholstery resting in front of the drum. Lastly, I only use my small cymbals with this setup. A 12″ and 16″ to be exact, for crashes. The hi-hat is generally played concluded so I have a grip on that. I've done my explore and the next piece coming will be a plexi-glass shield to place in front of the set. Then maybe I can slip into a groove without the choir director shouting "eggshells, eggshells". Playing Drums in Church |
Picking the Church for Your Wedding
Picking the Church for Your Wedding
It might sound strange, but for some couples, choosing the right church for their marriage ceremony can be a challenge. They might come from distinct religious backgrounds and need to come to a compromise. It could be that neither is a quarterly church-goer, but they would like to tie the knot in a house of worship. Or it could be that both the bride and groom grew up in their particular church, and neither can dream getting married in any place else. These are some tips on how to come together as a consolidate to pick the church for your wedding. |
|
In some ways the easiest scenario is when neither the bride or groom has ties to any exact church, but wish to get married in one. It is less a matter of compromise, and more of practicality. A good place to begin is by attending services at the churches in your area which are your denomination. If neither the bride or groom have a particular religious affiliation, they can look into community or non-denominational churches. Once you have found a church which feels comfortable, keep in mind that you may need to join to be able to get married there. If you are a Catholic, begin this process early, as even after joining the parish, you will still have a needful number of marriage preparing courses and counseling ahead of you. Keep in mind that some churches are able to be more flexible about the ceremony time, so if you have your heart set on a four o'clock wedding on a Saturday afternoon, make sure that the church does not have a quarterly assistance every week at 5pm. More attractive is when the bride and groom belong to distinct denominations. Although the differences are at times minor, if you always imagined yourself being married in the Methodist church wearing a long white gown with a flowing veil and pearl necklace, it might be hard to say your "I dos" at the Presbyterian church over the street. In some instances, a great explication to this qoute can be to hold the ceremony at a more neutral church, such as your college chapel. Most campus ministers will be willing to work with the bride and groom to develop a ceremony which respects both of their religious backgrounds. If the two of you were college sweethearts, it is also well meaningful to hold your ceremony on campus. When a college chapel is not an option, the consolidate can take turns attending each other's churches to find the one where both can feel most comfortable. If no compromise is reached this way, you can always revert to tradition, which says that the wedding is held in the bride's church (sorry, grooms). The biggest struggles can come when the bride and groom both have attended their respective churches for a long time, especially if the ties go back generations. The bride might have always imagined getting married in the same church where her mom and dad did, perhaps even wearing the same pearl necklace. Problems can occur when the groom's family has also attended his church for generations, and maybe his mom and dad were married there. Even if the churches are the same denomination, the bride and groom will plainly have special feelings about their own church, pastor, congregation, and family ties. A heart-to-heart talk is by all means; of course in order in the middle of the bride and groom. They may also wish to talk the matter over with their ministers. One good selection could be to hold the wedding in the bride's church with the groom's clergyman co-officiating. They might even reconsider holding a special blessing at the groom's church at a later date for immediate family. In the end, preparing for marriage may entail compromises just like any good marriage does. When the bride and groom are torn in the middle of two churches, it can be a very emotional selection to make, but sooner or later they will have to come to an business agreement that both can live with. With the first major hurdle managed, the bride and groom will be ready to continue attractive forward construction a life together. Picking the Church for Your Wedding |

9-11 - The Church That Stood and Stands
9-11 - The Church That Stood and Stands
In the modern aftermath of September 11, 2001, my husband and I were in New York City for a meeting and wanted to pay our respects at "Ground Zero," where the World Trade Center's Twin Towers had stood. |
|
We stood in a long snake-line of people also there to pay respect to the memories of innocent people that had so recently perished inside and near the towers. We remembered, also, their dead fellow citizens of a field in Shanksville, Pa, the Pentagon. In that New York City line were people in firm attire, sports outfits, and casual clothes. Every person was very quiet. Patience and respect stood in that slow line, eerily on display where ordinarily there would have been rush and irreverence in the bustle of a normal routine. We did not need reminding of the abnormality of the times. The black iron fence surrounding the church next to the towers bore discover through photos of victims, located by loved ones. The photos clung with other notices with written prayers and verses of hopeful love. Maybe the one being searched for had survived and was lost, injured, or confused. The church stood resolute, having amazingly been spared through the tragedy of that of that modern September 11 morning. Today, that church still stands. It remains a place of Christian worship and a merciful reminder of spiritual and corporeal protection. In spite of shattered glass, twisted metal, and other structural matter that flew out from the attacked towers, and the subsequent ash of the towers' collapse that day, the church stands. The church stands, a place spared, and helps honor the dead and gives a quantum of ease to survivors and to all Americans. The day of our visit to honor the innocent dead that day, the church was a haven for prayers and free food and drink for exhausted Ground Zero workers. Today, the seventh memorial year of that 9/11, Ground Zero, the site of that infamous strike that roared up the Hudson River and through the skies from Boston, shows signs of change. One future year, visitors may be able to pay their respects in a completed memorial setting that honors the innocent victims, along with heroic workers, visitors, firefighters, police, chaplains, and others who gave their lives there to help others before flames, collapsing structures, or dust overcame them. The site is a shared grave of massive proportions restlessly abiding in the psyche of every someone who grieves over that day. When the memorial opens, I hope visitors will consideration the church that stands nearby, embraced by that iron fence that bore loving notices for a long, long time. If ever that church suffers a direct attack, it is a great ease to know that the Church it represents, the body of believers led by Jesus Christ, will stand eternally. May all who honor the innocent lives that did not survive the four 9/11 attacks remember to pray for their families, friends, and co-workers who survived. May Christians be part of those who face the realities of what that day announced, that a fierce and considered principles of evil, through Jihadist terrorism, exists and is intent on winning. May we be humbly intent on the well-being of others as much as our own, like our founders who sacrificed for the tasteless good. May we be vigilant with a fierce hatred of oppression and threats to the freedoms of America and every other democratic nation. As a Christian, I desire to honor the lives of those who died on 9/11/01. Undeserved death and heroic acts, most unknown, joined in a living memorial. Their deaths are not in vain. The acts of terror under the ideology of those who took over four American airliners will not win over our spirit. Those who love, treasure, and seek to protect free time will vanquish their ideology and their efforts. Every day, along with 9/11, is a day to remain aware, thankful, and supportive of those who seek to guard our country. Every day, may God keep the New York City church in Manhattan that stood by the Towers and that, by His grace, stands today. God bless all who honor the memories of victims, rescuers, and comforters on this date, 9/11. "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" (John 3:14-17). 9-11 - The Church That Stood and Stands |

Church Candles Play an leading Role for Christians
Church Candles Play an leading Role for Christians
Have you ever noticed the leading role that candles play in church? There are many extra services that use candles and they play an leading part for the occasion. Candles at home can of course be nice, but in church they have a deeper meaning and leading symbolism. Also, most church candles comprise at least a inevitable percentage of beeswax. |
|
As churches have used extra candles throughout history, there are inevitable specifications as to what kind of candles are supposed to be used. Depending on the religion or denomination, inevitable candles used must comprise a minimum percentage of beeswax. For example, at one time the Catholic church required that all of the candles in their church were made from one hundred percent beeswax. A combine of reasons for this is the symbolism behind the beeswax as well as the fact that beeswax candles produce no smoke which could ruin paintings and artwork that were present in the church. Paraffin candles, one of the other options at the time, emitted a black smoke that was known to damage items.Today, Roman Catholic churches still need that the candles present in church comprise at least 51% of beeswax. Beeswax candles are very symbolic. The pure beeswax represents the pure body of Jesus, while the wick is symbolic of his soul. The flame that burns from the two combined elements is a representation of Christ's divinity which dominates and absorbs both. Christmas season is a time where churches seem to combine candles even more. Many churches hold Christmas Eve or Christmas morning candle light services. While this service, every someone present in the congregation commonly gets their own small candle that is lit. When the lights are turned off in the building and you can see only the candles burning from the congregation it is quite a gorgeous sight. The advent wreath also contains candles and is used four weeks before Christmas. This is made up of a wreath, four taper candles (usually three purple and one pink), and a large white pillar candle in the center. One of the taper candles is lit each Sunday prior to Christmas. The fifth candle is lit on Christmas day. As each candle is lit, scriptures are commonly read and then every person gathered takes some time for prayer. Each candle has a separate meaning including: The Candle of Prophecy, The Candle of the Way, The Candle of Joy, The Candle of Peace, and the Christ Candle / Christmas Candle. If you are wondering where this coveted beeswax comes from, it is positively a bi-product of laborer bees. Only laborer bees have a "wax gland" that secretes wax from the bee in the form of flakes, which is then rubbed off of the bee by its legs and deposited on the honeycomb. Scientists evaluation that bees need to consume about six to eight pounds of honey in order produce only one pound of beeswax. This is why beeswax can be very expensive. One of the most well known manufacturers of separate church candles and beeswax candles is Emkay Candle Company. This enterprise is located in the United States and has made a good name for itself among churches. Their products comprise anything from private congregation candles with drip protectors to altar candles made of beeswax. There are also other church candle associates that can be considered as well if you are looking for a manufacturer. Next time you are at a church service and there are candles being used, remember the importance and symbolism of them and think of all of the hard work that was put into production them by the laborer bees. Why We Need a branch of Church and State
In past days they had a agency of power, which was the Church and the Rulers. In the United States we have the three branches of government to balance the power. We have a disjunction of Church and State and religious freedom to worship the god or gods of your selecting or none at all. |
|
This prevents government from being beholden to one line of religious mental over an additional one and thus no one religion can cut the power of men in government to laid out the population and not a inescapable religion. If this were not the case and the religion gained more power over the population then the church or religion could label any singular attempt of government as good and/or evil. In doing so then the church would rule the land and give the human rights to their god rather than giving it back to the people. What happens when government becomes a religion? Well a strong sense of nationalism is a good thing, but when it goes over board such as in Nazi Germany you can see the inherent repercussions. Thus there are times when government or a church or a religion could be carefully good or evil. Fore good maybe evil and evil maybe good in an additional one period whether you fast forward or rewind the life experiences that human history breaks into past, gift and time to come periods. consider this thought. |
Shawls - The Origins of the Traditional Shawl
Shawls... "Shal" is a Persian word where shawl has been taken and derived. It is considered a wrap around garment which is normally put on top of other clothings. Shawl is of very old origin, both in India and the Middle East. These particular items of clothing provide protection against harsh cold weather conditions since time immemorial. Hence their basic function was and is to provide warmth. |
|
The actual source or origin of this wrap around piece of clothing is unknown. But people have been using them for a very long time. Men of Jewish decent wear a shawl called "tallit" whenever they attend ceremonies and prayers. During the nineteenth century's first decade, shawls made of silk with fringes can be purchased and seen in China. These garments that have more embroidery were well liked in America and Europe in the 1820s, which were likewise known as the China crepe shawls. The Spaniards on the other hand called such pieces of clothing "matons de Manila" as these were taken to Spain from China through the Manila port in the Philippines. In Spain the shawls were a natural dress part of the Gypsies, commonly known as "gitanas". Folk dresses in countries like Germany, Latin America, Andalusia, the Near East and Madrid have shawls, and it became high fashion garments during the early to mid nineteenth century in Western Europe. Further, Persian shawls also became world famous due to their elaborate patterns and designs. Shawls from Persia are manufactured from the wool of Kirman goats. Wool, silk and cottons were likewise made used of to the exquisite designs. The history of shawls in Russia is a mixture or European and Oriental cultures. Russia's trading with Persia resulted to the popularity of Persian shawls or wraps in Russian women, which was how shawl weaving started in Russia. The softest, most luxurious and best wool in the entire world is Pashmina, which comes form the wool of the mountain goat called Capra hircus, usually found inCentral Asia and Tibet. Garment knitting is closely interconnected with India's woolen textile history where the weaving of said wraps is done by using Pashmina wool in the Kashmir valley of India. Kashmiri shawls are popular in Persia, western countries and Europe due to its warmth, softness and conventional designs. Currently, in the colder parts of the Himalayas and also in India, shawls are still a traditional part of the male costume and are very popular in some north eastern states of India and others like Punjab, Gujarat, and West Bengal. |

Female Tattoo Gallery - Popular Tattoos Women Want
Female tattoos or feminine designed tattoos are usually favored by women or girls are becoming increasingly familiar as tattooing became more socially acceptable, largely due to the many celebrities who publicly sported tattoos. These can be usually found in a great female tattoo gallery. |
|
This kind of female tattoo gallery has tattoos that are usually smaller and prettier. Popular designs might include a butterfly, a flower or a Celtic design. Women's tattoo designs are also less heavy, less aggressive-looking. They tend to have thinner lines, though this is, of course, a generalization rather than a rule. Women nowadays are gradually opting for large tattoos. 'New school' hearts, stars, roses and tribal tattoo designs on the lower back are increasingly being asked for by females. Therefore these days, a female tattoo gallery will have these popular designs as women are becoming more experimental in the shapes and sizes of their designs. Many tattooists and female tattoo gallery report that when musicians, especially hip-hop artists get tattoos, there is usually a particular tattoo that is very popular. The popularity of lower back and stomach placement of tattoos suggests that most women still don't want their tattoos to be too obvious and also a desire for a more sexual placement of the tattoo. Many female tattoo gallery will normally recommend women to get their tattoos done on the more popular spot such as the lower back and ankle. First, lower back is a very sexy spot to have a tattoo. It seldom shows, but can be 'flashed' as the woman bends over. Catching a glimpse of a lower back tattoo on a woman, you almost get the feeling that you're seeing something you shouldn't be - very tempting! Ankle tattoos in any female tattoo gallery are usually small. Other tattoo location for girls include the shoulder - the left shoulder is traditionally the feminine side - because shoulder tattoos are a great accent when you're wearing a tank top or halter top in the summer. When it comes down to it, it's what makes you feel good. It's going to be around for quite a while so you may as well choose a tattoo that has lasting appeal in the female tattoo gallery. There are so many good tattoo designs and custom pieces a tattoo artists can do nowadays so don't be tempted to get some designs which will date really fast and end up looking shoddy. Generally female tattoos in any female tattoo gallery are very sexy and striking, and they certainly don't need to be offensive in any way. Do a search for 'female tattoos' on the internet in order to get more ideas with regard to tattoo designs. |

Zumba Clothing - What is the Best Workout Clothes to Wear
Is Zumba clothing important? Whether you are doing an aerobic or cardio class the correct attire can make your workouts easier. And it's no different with Zumba. There are so many different styles, brands, fabrics and types available today that the task of choosing the proper work-out clothes can be somewhat daunting. Besides everyone has their own personal favorites. Here are some of my favorite dance work out apparel that I personally where in all my classes. |
|
One last thing, many of our existing customers are wearing just any old garment to their classes. We used to do the same thing but what we found is that when you wear clothing that is not only comfortable to workout in but that you look good in, you will enjoy your workouts more! Recent studies suggest that you are more apt to continue your exercise program if you have the proper attire and are happy with the way you look in your workout clothes. Besides Zumba is all about having fun. So take a little time and find the right cargo pants, tank tops and other apparel to maximize your experience. Zumba Cargo Pants It is important to have comfortable pants that move with you. Clothing that restricts your movement is not advised. You need to have exercise clothing that moves with you. These should also be made of a breathable stuff. A newer fabric out today is Supplex. Supplex is a fully breathable fabric that is soft and feels like cotton but made to stretch with you and go right back into place time after time. This fabric does not pill either. This material also keeps its color very well wash after wash and dries quicker than cotton. This is one type of exercise material we recommend. Another good material you will really like is Dri Fit®. In our opinion, it holds it's shape well and keeps moisture away from your body. Another option are the very hip and very popular cargo pants that you see many of the instructors wear on the videos. They are available in a tremendous array of vibrant colors and sizes and styles. The "hipster" style has a little narrower leg and a shorter rise. They also carry plus size workout clothing. |

people Skills: Eight primary people Skills
Being able to present effectively with others requires habitancy skills, and here's eight necessary ones: |
|
1. Insight habitancy People not only come in all shapes and sizes, but they come with different personality types as well. You may want to brush up on how to present with the four main personality types by reading this article. Indeed, dedicated students of transportation could do microscopic great than buy Bem Allen's exquisite introduction to personality types, 'Personality Theories'. People are individuals, with as many similarities from one man to the next as differences. To present most effectively, each will wish you to present with them in their own private preference style, using their language, their body gestures, and their pace and intonation. So how do you find out how best to present with someone? Spend time with them! Don't expect to meet man off the road and talk intimately with them within a minute. Insight a branch takes time -- either that branch is an academic one or an additional one human being. 2. Expressing your thoughts and feelings clearly Our brains can only take so much facts in at any one time. We are bombarded with messages every second of the day, so to compete with the barrage of 'noise' a man faces, your message needs to be clear, succinct and to the point. It is very worthwhile taking time to plan your transportation -- no matter by what method it is delivered -- to ensure that you are taking the least whole of time to express the right level of belief in the most receptively straightforward manner. 3. Speaking up when your needs are not being met Just as important in enterprise relationships as in domestic ones, speaking up to ensure that your needs are met is a basic part of any relationship. You may wish to read this report on assertive, not aggressive, communication, but in a nutshell there are six different ways you can be assertive and not aggressive in your communication: by rehearsing your behaviour prior to the communication; by repeating your transportation (the 'broken record' technique); fogging; asking for negative feedback; tentative business transaction with negative feedback; and creating a workable compromise. Assertiveness is a beneficial transportation tool. It's application is contextual and it's not appropriate to be assertive in all situations. Remember, your sudden use of assertiveness may be perceived as an act of aggression by others. 4. asking for feedback from others and giving capability feedback in return Alongside assertiveness techniques, the giving and receiving of feedback is a key transportation skill that must be learnt if you want to have any hope of developing long-term enterprise relationships.. Toastmasters International teach a beneficial feedback and necessary present technique -- first give a sincere compliment, follow this with any practical suggestions for improvement, then wrap up with added sincere praise. It is known as 'Crc', or 'Commend, Recommend, Commend', a three-step model for excellence in giving capability feedback. Remember, too, that truthfulness is a subjective view. What you may find distasteful in man may be equally desirable from another's point of view. As I learnt, by living straight through a series of Ira attrocities in England and watching the Us political and media reactions, one man's terrorist is an additional one man's relaxation fighter. 5. Influencing how others think and act We all have the occasion to affect how others think and act. All the way from Cialdini's Persuasion law down to straightforward violence (of a verbal or corporeal nature), we are daily able to shape the thoughts and actions of those around us. From something as straightforward as smiling and saying, "Hello!" as a way of influencing someone's mood, to important by example during an intense duration of change, there are many ways of either important to or drawing out of others required behaviours and attitudes. Remember that an attitude leads to an emotion, which in turn leads to an action. Shape the attitudes and you have a more trustworthy way of predicting actions. 6. Bringing conflicts to the covering and getting them resolved I confess: I'm not a 'natural' at handling conflict. It's taken marrying into an existing house of three children to help this only child come to terms with conflict. It's taken me three years of living in my house to realise it's potential to co-exist in friction and not get personally involved. But it wasn't an easy chapter to learn, I can tell you! But being a step-father to juvenile children has helped me learn the significance of bringing conflicts and resentments to the covering where they can be more absolutely managed. Your employees might be harbouring inexpressive resentments of you, and unless you find out what they are, bring these 'dark secrets' out into the light of day, you are never going to be able to successfully deal with them. It's embarassing, potentially humiliating and requires a strong level of patience not to open right into a defensive mode, but giving habitancy the occasion to express their concerns, disappointments and anger, face-to-face, gives you immense occasion to put things right, or help them see where their thoughts and feelings are misplaced. 7. Collaborating with others instead of doing things by yourself I'm a shocker at this, but learning to delegate and share has been instrumental in growing my own business. The quickest way of burying yourself in excess information and workload is to try and do all things yourself. Yet sharing the workload can be the smartest thing you will ever do. Here's why: 'Leverage'. Leverage is taking your skills and abilities and allowing others to magnify your work capacity. You train them to do what you do and you do something else. One bricklayer can only lay a unavoidable whole of bricks in an hour, but that same bricklayer can train 15 mates to lay bricks and suddenly those 15 bricklayers are building monuments while the first bricklayer is out securing more work for them. While the 15 are laying bricks, the customary bricklayer can be learning how to perform industrialized bricklaying, or learn sales strategies, or learn supervision skills. The chapter is simple: try and do it all yourself and the 'all' will bury you; teach others to do what you do and you build a monument. Jesus taught 11 men how to do what he did. Then he left them to carry on while he moved on to other things. From the straightforward act of one man teaching 11 others, a church and the largest, most influential religious movement the world has ever known was born. 8. Shifting gears when relationships are unproductive Sometimes you need to walk away. Sometimes you need to jettison unhealthy cargo. And sometimes you need to take drastic steps to fetch equilibrium and momentum. 'Shifting gears' can be as straightforward as changing the venue of your supervision meeting from a dark office to a around cafe. Sometimes it can be engaging the meeting from right after lunch to first thing next morning, when clearer heads might prevail. Sometimes it can mean increasing the level of assertiveness in order to ensure the point you are development is being received. Sometimes it might mean bringing others into the meeting so that the other man understands the implications of their attitudes or actions. And sometimes it can mean helping them find a more meaningful and satisfying role covering of your sphere of influence. As a supervision psychologist I clearly remember one organisation I consulted to: the only way out of a staff impasse was to remove the impediments to progress. Which meant helping key protagonists find new work covering of the organisation. Sometimes culture convert can only be effected in a quick way by bringing in an entire new team and throwing away the dead wood. But only as a last resort. Conclusion The whole idea of being habitancy skilled is knowing or seeing how to bring out the best in others in any situation, rather than their worst. By mastering these eight necessary habitancy skills you dramatically growth your chances of achieving the best outcomes out of your interactions and enterprise challenges. |

easy Nativity Story - favorable For Toddlers
This Nativity is convenient for reading to a young audience, preschoolers and toddlers. Sometimes the nativity stories in toddler's Bibles are too brief, others too detailed. For the playgroup that I work with, or for a children's talk at church, this version is a happy medium. Power point slides or other pictures always help hold the attention of a young audience, and are more effective for communicating the story than using children as actors. |
|
[Maybe start by showing (pink and blue?) baby dolls and say that a baby boy is called a son and a baby girl is called a daughter. This is the true story about the most important, most special baby ever born. It is special because in the Bible God says that Jesus is his Son.] About two thousand years ago, in a town called Nazareth, there lived a young woman named Mary. Mary was soon going to marry a man called Joseph. Joseph was a carpenter - he made things out of wood. One day an angel came to see Mary and told her she had been chosen to have a special baby. The baby would be God's son and she must call him Jesus. Soon after the angel's visit, Mary and Joseph got married. Mary was expecting a baby. The baby was getting very big inside Mary's tummy when they had to go on a long journey to Bethlehem. Bethlehem was a town far from Nazareth but it was where Joseph used to live. Mary had to ride on a donkey for a few days, along the road and over the hills before they arrived in Nazareth. Poor Joseph had to walk all the way! At last Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem. It was crowded with other population who needed to pay their taxes. Mary was very tired and needed a place to stay. They hoped to find a bedroom in an inn where visitors could stay for a sleepover. But there was no room for them! All the bedrooms were already full with other people! Eventually, one kind innkeeper said he had a carport where he kept his animals. They could stay there, though it was probably a bit smelly. In the carport Mary's baby boy was born. She called him Jesus. Mary wrapped Jesus in strips of cloth to keep Him warm and laid Him in a manger full of hay. At the same time, on a hill near Bethlehem, some shepherds were seeing after their sheep. A absorbing light appeared in the sky. They were very afraid. It was an angel sent by God. The angel told them not to be afraid, because he had some good news. He said the Son of God had been born and they could find Him in Bethlehem. The shepherds wanted to go and see the baby. When they arrived at the stable, they were so happy to see baby Jesus. They knelt down and worshipped Him. They told Mary and Joseph that they had seen the angel in the sky, who told them that Jesus was to be the Rescuer (Saviour) of the world. Far away in the East, a new star was shining high in the sky. One wise man noticed it and was very surprised. He fetched an additional one wise man - "look at that new star!" he said. They both had a think about it. They knew this was a very special star. Wise man amount 3 looked in a book and said that a absorbing new star meant that a great King had been born. The 3 Wise Men decided to find this new King. So they set off to find him, riding on their camels. It was a long way! First they went to the King's palace because they view the new King would be in a palace. But King Jesus wasn't there! The Wise Men set off again to find the baby. They followed the star to the carport in Bethlehem. They found baby Jesus, the new king, lying in the manger. The wise men knelt down and worshipped Jesus. They gave him 3 presents. The presents were gold, frankincense and myrrh. That is the true story of the very first Christmas. |
How To Host A Victorian Tea Party Ideas Recipes
A Victorian Tea Party would be the most elegant of all. Everything in Victorian times was done lavishly. So break out your grandmothers china, silver, crystal & serving pieces. The fancier the better. Of policy if you have a truly prized possession that would break your heart if it was damaged, please don't use for the party. Accidents do happen! Before you get your house ready & put in order your food, you have to send out invitations. |
|
Invitation Ideas There are so many options here. With today's computer programs you can make some gorgeous ones at home. Tuck an actual tea bags in the invitation. Possibly make some using paper doilies & scrapbooking supplies. Decorating & Serving You will want to make the house as pretty as possible. Fresh flowers are a must, use them everywhere. I had a birthday tea in early June & I put vases of peonies everywhere, they are beautiful. Use former vases, or teapots that no longer have lids. Sometimes you can find then for a business agreement since they no longer have a lid! Use candles both tapers & scattered votives or tea lights. I use some of those fancy shaped Christmas light that are sold now in all kinds of shapes. I have some pretty heart ones & some flower ones & even some dragonfly lights ( those are for the fairy tea party - see my page on fairy tea parties) Play soft music in the background. There are even tea party music Cd's you can purchase. For tablecloths try lace or damask. Scatter silk rose petals on your table. Use real linen or fancy paper napkins. I found some monogrammed napkins at an ancient store in California last year. They were reasonable I guess because not too many habitancy have an "O" monogram. For Serving Pieces You Will Need At Least Some of the Following Teapot Silver Or China Sugar & Creamer Salt & Pepper Shakers Water Pitcher Various Serving Trays Tole Tray China Serving Platters Silver Serving Pieces Crystal Serving Pieces Crystal Plates Crystal Bowls Silverware Pedestal Cake Plates Porcelain or China Teacups Pretty Plates(mix & match is Ok) Jam or Jelly Serving Jar Demitasse or Fancy Spoons You don't need to spend a lot of money. Some I have been given as gifts, but most are from estate sales or thrift stores. I have at least 24 mix & match cups & saucers. I love the pedestal cake plates or the tiered serving pieces. I have any I purchased at the Salvation Army. I bought a vintage Hobnail cake plate for . It has a fix on the pedestal part , but I cover with approved fancy ribbon! Be sure you use lots of scented candles, be creative with your candle holders. Use paper or tatted doily under or on your serving pieces.Be sure you have a nice glass or crystal on hand for water. Maybe not all of your guests drink tea. To use for serving sugar or with teacups, or as party favors, be sure to see some of the demitasse spoons I sell. Aren't they sweet! Tie them up to a tea bag with a slight satin ribbon & you have a darling tea party favor. If you can find some bargains, give each guest a fancy teacup to take home. Yummy Food To Serve Offer your guests a variety of tea flavors. I leave them out in a lined basket. It is fun to use decorated sugar cubes & sugar tongs too! Tea Sandwiches There are many varieties of tea sandwiches you can serve. Try to find a firmer style bread, cut the crust off & cut sandwiches either diagonally so you have 2 triangle sandwiches or in 4's for a bit smaller sandwiches. Cucumber sandwiches have long been a tea party tradition. This is an easy one that everyone likes. Just spread softened cream cheese on bread & top with thinly sliced cucumbers. Simple. For a fall or Christmas time tea try turkey & cranberry sauce sandwiches. Use your popular egg salad or chicken salad recipe. Try adding sliced almonds to your chicken salad recipe, yum! For other fillings you can use, watercress, tomatoes, cheese, deli meats, smoked salmon or ham salad. For Children spread softened cream cheese on bread & top with jelly, cut with cookie cutter. On top of the sandwich spread just a bit of softened cream cheese & dust with sprinkles. Scones Biscuits Cookies & Cakes You cannot have a Victorian Tea Party without scones. What Makes a Good Church Pastor?
I know most people, would look at a good church pastor as person who is kind, courteous, kind and understanding. I couldn't agree more, but I would also like to add something else. A good church pastor is person who understands Christianity and tries to live a life like Jesus of Nazareth. |
|
It doesn't absolutely matter, whether or not Jesus was a real person or God, the Bible portrays him as a loving and kind person. This is the example that most church leaders should follow. If this is what Christianity represents, then any good church pastor, should be a representative of these beliefs. According to the standards of the Bible, that narrate Jesus. Doesn't this make sense, if Jesus was a loving and kind leader, shouldn't a church pastor be loving and kind also? If Jesus never went nearby request habitancy for money, shouldn't the job of a good church leader, be one that doesn't ask others for money, but maybe one who might think about taking a second job or maybe even a third job, to help the church out, and maybe pay his own way. A good pastor, should also make time for whatever in his congregation. These habitancy are often looked up to, as the ones with all the answers, and instead of telling their followers, that they absolutely don't have all of the answers, they have to portray themselves as all-knowing, unmistakably, superhuman beings. That's not what makes a good church pastor. If you don't know the answer, interpret your situation to your followers. You're not Jesus and you're not God and you don't have all the answers. Let them know. To sum all up, a good church pastor, shouldn't keep request everybody for money and should start to lead financially to his own organization. They should also, show compassion to others and help the less fortunate. In other words quit asking, and start doing. It seems like the more productive pastors, put less demands on their followers and do more themselves for others. |
